It's a few days early, but Karen mentioned this photo and I wanted to repost it. Here's a very unsure Lu Yin Gui and a VERY happy momma sharing their first bottle together. Shortly after this bottle, she had an accident and got her first bath with us. It's unbelievable that this little one is sitting on the arm of my chair, talking about how it's ok for boys to wear earrings too. To Jess and Tim...every bump, every road block, every extra day that you have to wait to get your little one is so worth it. I don't think there's a happier picture of Julia and I together than this one. :-) Love you guys, can't wait to see you tonight!! Yay!

Still makes me cry! As soon as the "For Karen" came up, I knew what picture it would be and the tears started streaming. Nothing makes me happier than seeing a baby with her/his mama!
I know! I get the same feeling every time I look at someone blog and see them on Gotcha/Forever Family Day. But what I don't get is why I feel so different when I look at pictures of me and Anna or Cam right after they were born. Like, it's a very different feeling. Like is adopting a more emotional moment than giving birth? Gosh, I don't know! Is it because I felt like I "knew" Cam and Anna because I had carried them? Or is it knowing that this little baby from a miles away is finally going to be with a family who has wanted nothing more than to hold her for 9 long months (which is the same length of time as a pregnancy!). Hmmm.....

Melissa you and Wayne are great! Seeing this pic and reading the post reminded me (and made me cry)that it will happen-not in your 9 months, but....LOL
