EHDI 2008/New Orleans...so far

First let me say that Im super bummed that I didn't remember to bring the adapter for my camera for pictures. Everyone will have to wait till I get home to see how...how...New Orleans is...is...New Orleans. Sin City. The Big Easy.

My flights from Grand Rapids and Memphis went off a hitch. Things were good, no issues. YAY! I met some nice people on the plane. Arrived in New Orleans around 11:00 am. Got to the hotel and there were no rooms ready. Eh...bummer. So I bunked my stuff with a nice conference lady and met Janet and Stephanie for lunch. Well, lunch wasn't really lunch. We went to Cafe DuMonde and had coffee and beignets. Another YAY! I was excited. The walk was great. Bourbon Street is...eh...not my style at all. I'm not into nude dancers, bars or junk stores selling every kind of cheesy t-shirt and beads you could imagine. I'm failing to see the draw to the area.

The conference has been exceptional. As usual. I love hearing all the presenters and meeting new people. Especially other parents. Tomorrow will be another great day. I'll write more tomorrow or later tonight, I need a nap. ;-)

I'm so glad to hear you had a great flight and had some yummy treats already. NO isn't my cup of tea either, not sure why so many people find it so much fun....what I want to hear...IN GREAT DETAIL...is the weather, what does the sun feel like, what does it look like???? We are under a winter storm warning right now so I NEED to know what its like!!!!

I've never wanted to even go to New Orleans due to what I've seen on TV. But I'm sure if you get away from Burbon Street you'll find some terrific parts of the south you were never aware of. Have fun and be safe.

I live 90 minutes away from NOLA. And have only beent here twice! I have this NEED to go and explore. Not Bourbon st and Mardi Gras crap. I can do that anytime, right? LOL But I really want to do some of the historical tours and go eat the fab food and drink great coffee and just breathe it all in. Maybe I will go on Spring Break....
